  • Commission Process: All commissioned artwork is created based on direct communication between the client and Max Renwick. Once terms are agreed upon (size, medium, reference image, timeline), work will begin.

  • Ownership & Usage: The artist retains the copyright of all artwork. Clients may use images of their commissioned portraits for personal use (e.g., printing or sharing online), but not for resale or commercial purposes without written permission.

  • Communication & Timeline: Timelines will be agreed upon before work begins. Delays due to unforeseen circumstances will be communicated in advance.

  • Website Use: All content, images, and designs on this site are the intellectual property of Max Renwick and may not be copied or reproduced without permission.

Satisfaction Guarantee

Every portrait is created with care and attention, and your satisfaction is important. Because artwork is custom-made, refunds are not offered as standard — however, we will always work with you to resolve concerns.

  • Before Painting Begins: If you need to cancel a commission before work starts, please get in touch as soon as possible. In most cases, we can offer a partial or full refund depending on how much work has already been done.

  • After Painting Begins: Once painting is underway, refunds are not guaranteed, but if you’re unhappy with the result, we’ll explore solutions, whether that’s adjustments or other options.

  • Open Communication: You're encouraged to be involved during the process to ensure the final piece meets your expectations.
